ATLANTA, Oct. 18, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS Satellite Networks (SatNet), a division of EMS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ELMG), is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Pollack as Director of Federal Sales. Pollack will work closely with William Hafner and the rest of the EMS Satellite Networks Federal Sales team, and be supported by Zelinger Associates Inc., which was hired last May as EMS SatNet's sales and marketing agent to the U.S. Government.
This announcement will help bolster further SatNet's government sales capability in North America's open-standard, two-way DVB-RCS hub and terminal market, in which EMS is the market share leader. Last month, EMS issued a press release announcing that the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) is equipping ground operators of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) in southwestern Asia with real-time video capabilities from EMS Satellite Networks DVB-RCS systems.
Mr. Pollack brings to EMS more than 15 years of professional sales and marketing experience in the satellite communications equipment and services market and extensive knowledge in satellite network architecture and related technologies. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Pollack was Director at Hughes Network Systems, responsible for business development, sales, and technical marketing activities for U.S. Government and Global activities worldwide in regions such as the Middle East, South America, and Russia and the Former Soviet Republics. In his most recent assignments, Mr. Pollack has been heavily involved in the provision of satellite terminals and services to Department of Defense organizations such as the U.S. Army and to numerous U.S. Government contractors and integrators.
