Delta Offers Salt Lake City Customers New Domestic, International Service

Special Introductory Fares Promote New Non-Stop Flights to Milwaukee, Wis., Mazatlan, Mexico


SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 19, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- As Delta Air Lines continues to implement its transformation plan offering customers new service to key business and leisure destinations, travelers soon will be able to take advantage of new non-stop service from the airline's hub in Salt Lake City to points east of the Mississippi River and south of the border. Beginning Dec. 1, Delta Connection carrier Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA) will offer service between Salt Lake City and Milwaukee. And on March 8, 2006, Delta Connection carrier Shuttle America will start flights between Salt Lake City and the Mexican Pacific coastal playground of Mazatlan(1).

"We are continuing to expand service from Salt Lake City to important business markets to the east, such as Milwaukee," said Bob Cortelyou, vice president of Network Planning. "Our new flight to Mazatlan represents further growth into the popular Mexican leisure destinations our customers tell us they want to visit."

To celebrate the new service between Salt Lake City and Mazatlan, for a limited time Delta is offering customers a special low introductory fare of $174 each way, based on a roundtrip purchase. Sample fares from Milwaukee to Salt Lake City and other connecting cities are shown below. Additional taxes/fees/restrictions apply. For 2005, Delta has begun or announced plans to increase service from its Salt Lake City hub to key U.S. regional business destinations, including: Columbus, Ohio; Indianapolis.; Cleveland (Nov. 1); Memphis, Tenn. (Nov. 1); Nashville, Tenn. (Dec. 1); and Hartford, Conn. (Dec. 1). To Mexico, in addition to Mazatlan, Delta will begin flights between Salt Lake City and Puerto Vallarta (Nov. 1) and Cozumel (March 10, 2006, subject to foreign government approval).

Delta's new daily Mexico service from Salt Lake City to Mazatlan, operated by Shuttle America, features the next-generation Embraer 170 aircraft, which offers customers superior comfort in the form of a larger cabin with maximized cabin width at shoulder level, a wider aisle, larger seats, higher baggage capacity, improved personal space and increased leg room. The aircraft has 70 seats: a six-seat first class cabin that offers customers two-and-one seating, and a coach cabin with 64 seats in a two-by-two configuration. ASA will operate its service between Salt Lake City and Milwaukee with the popular 70-seat Bombardier CRJ 700 aircraft.

Travel between Salt Lake City and Mazatlan is on the Delta Connection Carrier Shuttle America. A portion of travel for some itineraries may be on the Delta Connection carriers Atlantic Southeast Airlines, Chautauqua Airlines, Comair, Freedom Airlines, Shuttle America, and SkyWest; codeshare partners Alaska Airlines, American Eagle, Continental Airlines, ExpressJet, Horizon Air, Mesaba, Northwest Airlines, and Pinnacle Airlines; Song, Delta's low-fare service; SkyTeam partner Aeromexico or codeshare partner Aerolitoral.

Restrictions: Fares shown are available for purchase only on delta.com or from your travel agent. Sale fares may apply from other U.S. cities to Mazatlan. Tickets cost $10 more if purchased from Delta over the telephone or $15 more if purchased at an airport or city ticket office, and these amounts are nonrefundable. Travel agents may impose an additional service charge for ticketing.

Tickets are nontransferable. Seats are limited and fares may not be available on all flights or in all markets. Tickets: Fares shown are one-way. Round-trip purchase is required. For travel to Mazatlan tickets must be purchased within 3 days after reservations are made, but no later than Nov. 1, 2005. For travel to or from Milwaukee, Wis., tickets must be purchased at least 14 days prior to departure, but no later than Nov. 1, 2005.
