Getech Strengthens Commitment to Server-Based Computing via New Partnership with Neoware

Partnership will Provide Greater Customer Services to Support Growing Demand for Thin Client Solutions in the UK

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. and IPSWICH, Suffolk, UK, Oct. 31, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Neoware Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:NWRE), the leading supplier of enterprise software, thin client appliances and related services, and Getech, Limited, the leading distributor and service provider for thin client desktops in the UK market, today announced a new distribution partnership to capitalize on the growing thin client market in the UK.

Under the terms of the partnership, Neoware and Getech will collaborate to strengthen their marketing, selling and support efforts to provide greater resources for resellers, VARS, and thin client customers throughout the UK. Getech has created a dedicated Neoware sales force and will provide logistics, support and warranty services to its Neoware customers to enhance customer service levels. Neoware will expand its UK-based service offerings, including providing local engineering and customization services. These new offerings will be available to thin client customers through Neoware's entire distribution channel in the UK.

This new partnership comes as Neoware is increasing its own investments in the UK market and other geographies in an effort to increase market share gains. Neoware is retraining and adding staff at its Bracknell and Milton Keynes locations to capitalize on growing demand for thin clients in the UK market. According to IDC, the thin client market is projected to grow by a compound annual rate of greater than 20% from 2005 to 2009, significantly outpacing the growth rate of the overall PC market. Over the last five years, Neoware's share of the worldwide thin client segment of the PC market, including organic growth and acquired businesses, has grown five-fold from approximately five percent to nearly 25 percent, as other primary competitors' total share has dropped.

"We are pleased to partner with Neoware and to expand our commitment to providing the best thin client solutions to our resellers and other partners," said Tina Blockley, Managing Director for Getech. "Getech is committed to providing the best thin client solutions available, and we are confident that our new partnership with Neoware will enable our customers to have access to the widest range of thin client and software solutions."

"Neoware is very pleased to expand its partnership with Getech to provide the best server-based and thin client solutions," commented Michael Kantrowitz, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Neoware. "With our recent acquisitions in Germany and France, and now our increased investments and new partnership with Getech in the UK, we believe that we are better positioned than any competitor to support our customers and to help them realize the benefits of server-based thin client computing."

Neoware thin clients and software enable enterprises to improve the security, manageability, and reliability of their desktops, while reducing both up-front and ongoing costs. Because Neoware thin clients can be secured, and because applications run on central servers, Neoware thin clients can be made virtually immune from standard PC viruses and other security threats, significantly improving information security, reliability and backup/recovery operations. Using Neoware management software, which can be integrated with industry-standard PC management tools such as Microsoft SMS, IBM Tivoli, or Altiris, a system administrator can manage tens of thousands of Neoware thin clients without traveling from desk to desk, lowering administrative costs. Neoware thin clients start at 129 pounds, significantly lower than the cost of the typical business PC.

The full range of Neoware thin clients and software are available immediately from Getech. Getech can be reached on (01473) 240470 or by email at info@getech.co.uk.
