Tähti Optikko is one of the leading nationwide chains of outlets specialising in optical products. It consists of 127 retail outlets, of which 30 are owned by Kaukomarkkinat Oy and 97 run by entrepreneurs.
Tähti Optikko was established in 1998. In 2004, its net sales were 37 million euros and market share about 16%. The chain operates in Finland, entirely in Finnish ownership. It employs approximately 350 people in outlets, product design, lens production and import.
Tähti Optikko outlets sell many valued brands, such as Silhouette, Rodenstock, Sand, Burberry, Redgreen, Adidas, Swarovski and Seiko. Tähti Optikko also operates in Nordic Optical Partners, a cooperation chain that is an important joint purchasing channel for over 300 Nordic optical outlets.
Keswell Ltd specialises in the Finnish home and speciality goods trade. Keswell's biggest subsidiary is Anttila Oy, which operates with four concepts: Anttila and Kodin Ykkönen department stores, Anttila Mail Order and Netanttila.com. Other Keswell store concepts are Asko, Sotka, Intersport, Kesport, Musta Pörssi, Andiamo, K-kenkä, Kenkäexpertti and Academica. Keswell also operates outside Finland: in Sweden, Estonia and Latvia. In 2004, Keswell's net sales totalled 793 million euros, representing an increase of 9.2% compared with the previous year. The number of personnel is about 4,100.
