Wolverine Tube Announces Change in CFO

James E. Deason Rejoins; Thomas B. Sabol Resigns


HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Nov. 10, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Wolverine Tube, Inc. (NYSE:WLV) announces the resignation of Thomas B. "Tom" Sabol as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary, and the appointment of James E. "Jed" Deason to the position of Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary. Mr. Sabol resigned his position, effective November 4, 2005, to pursue other career interests.

Mr. Deason rejoins Wolverine after having retired from the Company as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary in March 2005. In addition, Mr. Deason, prior to his retirement, was also a Director of the Company. Since his retirement, Mr. Deason had served as a consultant to Wolverine management on a variety of issues.

Commenting on the announcement, Dennis Horowitz, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said, "We welcome Jed back to Wolverine. Jed has a unique, in-depth and thorough knowledge of the company and its operations. Because of Jed's previous experience with the company both as an employee and consultant, he will be able to immediately step in and take over the management of the financial operations of the company."

Mr. Horowitz continued, "We wish to thank Tom for the hard work and contributions that he made to Wolverine during his tenure here. We wish him well in his future endeavors."

Prior to joining Wolverine in 1994, Mr. Deason was a partner with Ernst & Young LLP for six years, and served in various staff, management and senior management roles at Ernst & Young LLP in the fourteen years prior to his term as partner.
