Drummond Appointed Senior Vice President, Finance and Treasurer at SYSCO


HOUSTON, Nov. 21, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY), North America's largest foodservice marketer and distributor, announced today that Kirk G. Drummond has been named senior vice president, finance and treasurer. Mr. Drummond, who is currently senior vice president and chief information officer, will assume his new responsibilities effective December 1, 2005.

Mr. Drummond, 50, joined SYSCO in 1986 as controller of the company's Grand Rapids, Michigan subsidiary. In 1989 he transferred to SYSCO's Atlanta operation as chief financial officer and controller, a position he held until 1992 when he assumed the added duties of vice president of finance. Mr. Drummond relocated to SYSCO's corporate headquarters in Houston in 1997 when he was appointed vice president and controller. He was named vice president and chief information officer in 2000 and in January of this year he was appointed to his current duties.

Mr. Drummond is a 1978 graduate of the University of Arizona, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He has two children and resides in Katy, Texas, with his wife, Yvette.
