SCARBOROUGH, Maine, Jan. 25, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) has endorsed the Stormwater Management StormFilter(r) as a stand-alone system for meeting the agency's water quality goal of 80% removal of total suspended solids (TSS). The StormFilter removes the most challenging target pollutants through a patented passive filtration system that uses a variety of sustainable media.
"This endorsement will provide additional stormwater treatment alternatives for engineers, particularly for commercial developments and other applications where available space is limited," said Atlantic Zone Manager Eric Whitney.
Field monitoring data for the StormFilter was reviewed and determined to be in accordance with the DNREC's Sediment and Stormwater Program. It was demonstrated that the StormFilter will consistently satisfy stormwater treatment goals as a stand-alone BMP. Stormwater360 worked with DNREC to develop solutions for the differing soil types in the Piedmont and Coastal Plains regions located north and south of the C&D Canal.
