WEST CHESTER, Ohio, Feb. 8, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) has issued a Conditional Interim Certification (CIC) for the VortFilter(r). The VortFilter is ideal for sites with low hydraulic drop conditions for stormwater treatment.
Verified through laboratory performance data, the VortFilter cartridge, in combination with the VortFilter sump sized at a treatment rate of no more than 15 gpm, is rated by the NJDEP to provide 80% TSS removal efficiency. In accordance with the CIC, the VortFilter must be used with a pretreatment device as part of a treatment train. Stormwater360 is embarking on a monitoring program to gather acceptable field data in accordance with the Tier II monitoring protocol.
"Stormwater360(tm) designs stormwater BMPs that meet the most stringent requirements in the field," said Chief Technical Officer Jim Lenhart, "and we are dedicated to demonstrating that in the field. This CIC allows us to begin the rigorous field testing for the VortFilter, which we have almost completed for the StormFilter in New Jersey."
Stormwater360 offers a complete line of filtration products to meet the requirements of every site in New Jersey. In December 2004, the Stormwater Management StormFilter(r) received an Extension Approval to the Conditional Interim Certification from NJDEP, which made it available for use in treating stormwater runoff as a stand-alone BMP. Stormwater360 is currently working to complete an evaluation in the field for the StormFilter in New Jersey.
"We can now offer a wide range of solutions for every site to meet DEP requirements for new development and redevelopment," said Eric Whitney, Stormwater360 Zone Manager. "The Stormwater360 line of filtration products is complimented by hydrodynamic products that have also been recognized by the NJDEP."
