Agfa HealthCare wins 100 sites around the world with IMPAX 6.0, its next generation PACS

Mortsel (Belgium) - February 15, 2006

Agfa HealthCare announced today that more than 100 sites around the world have signed up to use Agfa's next-generation Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS), IMPAX 6.0(TM). Launched at RSNA (Radiological Society of North America) in November 2005, the value of IMPAX 6.0 has been recognized, in a very short period of time, by a variety of facilities, ranging from small imaging centers to very large multi-facility hospital systems.

Among the 100 sites, are hospitals in two of the five clusters in the National Health Service (NHS) England, United Kingdom. Together, the hospitals in England's NHS's North East and East clusters conduct more than 10 million radiology exams each year.

"Agfa HealthCare has been contracted to connect 75 NHS hospitals together for seamless, enterprise-wide image management. This is quite an undertaking, made possible via IMPAX 6.0's unique enterprise capabilities," said Marcel Swennenhuis, Global Business Manager RIS/PACS, Agfa HealthCare.
"IMPAX 6.0 is built upon the knowledge and experience of over 10,000 radiologists worldwide. Customer adoption of IMPAX 6.0 in North America and around the world has exceeded our expectations and is an indication of the strength of this solution," he added.

IMPAX 6.0 is suited for large, multi-facility systems as well as community- based hospitals and imaging centers. The Hackensack Radiology Group (HRG), of Hackensack, New Jersey (USA) has installed IMPAX 6.0. HRG is a four-site imaging center practice with remote affiliations including the Hackensack University Medical Center. It supports the Northern New Jersey/New York Metropolitan area and conducts approximately 60,000 outpatient imaging procedures per year.
