MOUNDS VIEW, Minn., Feb. 16, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Choice and convenience are the hallmarks of the new Liberty personal checks and accessories catalog, which now provides consumers and small businesses more than 500 products from which to choose, 200 of which are new.

Consumers can use their checks to support an expanded number of charitable causes through Liberty's "Show Your Support" checks. Liberty partners with 11 organizations, including National Breast Cancer Foundation, American Heart Association, Plant-It 2020, Humane Society of the United States and Hasbro Children's Hospital in Rhode Island. "Just as credit unions give back to their members, cause-related checks mirror the giving philosophy and affords members the opportunity to donate to causes and issues important them," said Kristy Grayson, Liberty Director of Check Products.
New to the Liberty personal check line are licensed characters such as Mr. Potato Head, PRECIOUS MOMENTS(R), and renowned artists Terry Redlin and Jeff Wilke. For the sports enthusiasts, rooting for the home team is no further away than Liberty's Major League Baseball(R) and collegiate check lines. All new and refreshed check designs feature coordinating address labels and premium checkbook covers.
The expanded product line is part of Liberty's strategy to help credit unions attain, grow and sustain their checking account relationships. This strategic partnership with credit unions is even stronger since Liberty became part of John H. Harland Company in mid-2005.
"This catalog is the result of research and product development that ensures we've provided solutions that are relevant, compelling and unique for our credit union partners," said Grayson. "Because of our 20-year focus on serving the credit union market, Liberty continues to provide products and services that preserve member loyalty and help set our clients apart from their competition."
One solution that can help credit unions reach their goals is the easy-to-use and easy-to-follow catalog format, Grayson added. Members will view the same message no matter which communication channel is used - the catalog, a brochure or the Internet. By simplifying the layout, all marketing collateral merchandises the products effectively. This in turn, makes the check selection process simpler while providing more product options to members.
Liberty also can assist its clients in providing choice and value to the small business market, an emerging segment in the credit union industry. Liberty simultaneously introduced an expanded business product line and catalog that now includes one-write systems, portable business checks, voucher, and computer checks, in addition to an extensive line of business accessories.
The personal and business catalogs were launched January 27. The catalogs were made available in both print and online on Liberty's website: www.libertysite.com.
