Vaisala's codetermination negotiations concluded

Vaisala has concluded the codetermination negotiations started on January 19, 2006. The reason for the negotiations is the reorganization relating to the partial outsourcing of the Vaisala Measurement Systems division's production functions.

The negotiations applied to the radiosonde production, tools workshop and maintenance organization, and their support functions in Finland. As a result, Vaisala will give notice to 37 employees. For other parts, the target reduction of approximately 60 productive labor years will be realized through terminations of temporary employment, relocations and pension programs.

The outsourcing measures will be carried out during year 2006. No cost accruals have been made, as the costs and savings related to the measures will net each other out in fiscal year 2006.

The financial impact is estimated to be some 1.5MEUR annual improvement in the division's result, starting from fiscal year 2007.
