FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif., March 1, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Oakley, Inc. (NYSE:OO) today announced the release of an eyewear collection designed exclusively for women. "No longer does a woman have to sacrifice visual clarity and protection for the sake of fashion. Inspired by the needs of active women, we've combined HDO(R) with eyewear designs that bring style and art to everyday wear," said Oakley President Colin Baden. "The gauge of success is when a woman chooses Oakley products for the authenticity of their design -- an essential wardrobe accessory, and then discovers the optical benefits after the fact."
The first frame in Oakley's exclusive eyewear collection for women is GRAPEVINE(TM), a design original with uniquely feminine geometry and decidedly playful style. Sculpturally integrated hinges and true metal icons accent the comfortably lightweight O Matter(R) frame.
Three separate color layers add tiers of depth to a fashion invention called SCRIPT(TM). Options for this new eyewear design include a print pattern inspired by Oakley's popular line of women's apparel creating a truly complementary companion accessory. The lightweight O Matter(R) frame is enriched with metal band accents and true metal icons that combine all-day comfort and optical precision.
Crowning the collection, the new Oakley DART(TM) frame is highlighted by the smooth contour of a single continuous lens and an artistically sculpted hinge. For maximum comfort, the frame takes advantage of lightweight C-5 alloy, a proprietary blend of five metal compounds.
Each sunglass in Oakley's exclusive new collection for women comes with a fashion eyewear case. For those who require corrective optics GRAPEVINE(TM) and SCRIPT(TM) are prescription ready. Lenses are available in a range of colors including gradient shading.

These new eyewear styles incorporate Oakley's HDO(R), a collective platform of technologies that offer unbeatable clarity and protection. Pure Plutonite(R) lens material filters out the damaging rays of UV including 100% of all UVA, UVB, UVC and harmful blue light up to 400nm. Additionally, the fashion accent of extended lens coverage and larger frame geometry helps shield the delicate area around the eyes from harmful sunlight.
