BURBANK, Calif., May 1, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Imaging3, Inc, (OTCBB:IMGG), developer of a breakthrough medical imaging device that produces 3D medical diagnostic images of virtually any part of the human body in real-time, today reports that the company was recently featured in an article in the San Fernando Valley Business Journal. The article emphasized the breakthrough nature of the company's technology.
Citing patent work done by patent law giant Pillsbury-Winthrop on the company's behalf, the article notes that Imaging3 has staked out some unique and valuable intellectual property rights in the multi-billion dollar medical imaging device sector. The breakthrough nature of Imaging3 technology is generating interest from physicians, surgeons, clinics and larger medical device manufacturers.
In much the same way that MRIs or CT scans changed the face of medical care, the company's Dominion product is expected to usher in strategic shifts in medical care protocols across many medical care fields. The Business Journal article cites an example of how the Dominion product is intended to revolutionize emergency room or trauma care:
"Some medical devices, like MRIs or CT scanners, can provide 3D images, Janes said, but they only show an image of a single event. Other real-time 3D devices have to be constantly moved, or require physicians to reposition a patient several times. The Dominion, however, scans around a body in 360 degrees, taking digital images any where from 0.2 to 0.8 seconds. The result is a constantly (updating) three dimensional image of a body that can be consulted by trauma physicians removing a bullet."
The company's Dominion is also expected to usher in a radical shift in the way a multitude of other medical fields are able to provide more accelerated care to sufferers of various diseases. These fields include trauma care, anesthetics and pain reduction, peripheral vascular disorders and orthopedics.
