CALVERTON, N.Y., May 2, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- AdZone Research, Inc. (OTCBB:ADZR) today reported that its Board of Directors has appointed Terry Kent as its Chief Operating Officer. He most recently was a partner in Baltic Ventures, LLC., a strategic consulting firm he co-founded five years ago with Jeffrey Hale, AdZone's newly appointed President & CEO.
"Terry has more than 25 years of top level executive experience in the business information and software solutions industry, and has been actively involved in the growth transformation of more than 30 companies throughout his career," said AdZone Chairman Charles A. Cardona.
"He has outstanding achievements in the operational aspects of business development and emerging markets, including strategic partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, consolidations, and divestitures," Cardona continued. "His experience encompasses start-up, turnaround, high-growth, multinational and multi-site operations, and also includes recruiting and developing high-caliber executive teams that generate optimum productivity and performance excellence."
"This is an important step in AdZone's growth strategy, and I am excited to be part of the team which will help transition the company to its next level of success," said Kent. "Charles and John Cardona, together with Dan Wasserman and the rest of the AdZone team, have created a great foundation. Working together, our collective mission will be to grow AdZone into the company we all believe it has the potential to become."
Having started his business career in 1978 at Dun and Bradstreet, Kent joined VNU NV, the world's leading multi-billion dollar media and marketing information company, in 1986, where he held a variety of executive level positions. As a founding member of VNU's acquisition team in the U.S., Kent served as an Executive Vice President in charge of technology and operations from 1986 to 1992. From the mid- to late 1990s, he held several key leadership roles, many of which overlapped into dual functions and responsibilities, and included a variety of initial President and Group President/Chairman assignments: Chairman of Occupational Health Services (1990-92), President of Competitive Media Reporting (1992-93), President of VNU Marketing Information Services (1993-94), COO Media Resources Plus (1996-97), CIO VNU USA (1999-00), and Chairman/CEO IMS International (2000-01). His last assignment was that of Chief Operating Officer for VNU's Media Information Group (1995-01).
Together with AdZone CEO Jeff Hale, Kent then helped to form Baltic Ventures, LLC, with a focus on working with corporations and investors in the business information and intelligence sector. His most recent assignment at Baltic Ventures was as a founding member and officer of Hippon, a newly launched, privately held European software company.
Kent studied science and engineering at Lehigh University, and scientific modeling at Rutgers University.
