WHAT: A celebration of the quality, artistry and long history
of the genre. To underscore the director's role in
bringing these films to life, the DGA will be kicking
off its "Movies For Television: Four Decades of
Directorial Excellence" campaign with special guest
speakers and a historical clip montage of more than 80
significant movies for television and mini-series. To
be followed by a gala party to reconnect friends and
          colleagues.

exclusively for television aired, directors and their
creative collaborators have been making films that tell
compelling stories. Too often, these films and their
creators have not received the recognition they deserve
for the quality of their work and its impact on millions
          of television viewers.
