Cinemaware Marquee Ships Darwinia to Retailers

Award Winning Indie Sci-Fi PC Title Now Available at Stores Across North America

LANGHORNE, Pa., June 29, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Cinemaware Marquee, an affiliated label of eGames, Inc. (OTCBB:EGAM), has begun shipping the critically acclaimed PC game Darwinia(tm) to North American retailers. This award-winning title combines fast paced action with strategic battle planning, a novel and intuitive control mechanism, a graphical style ripped from 80's retro classics, and a truly unique story concerning a tribe of video game sprites trapped in a modern 3D game world.

"Vastly different from anything I have ever seen or played, I fell in love with Darwinia from the moment I saw it," said Lars Batista, Vice President of Product Development at eGames. "The game experience in Darwinia is really a work of art, something completely original. It's a throwback to the classic days of computer gaming, while at the same time futuristic and brand new."

Developed by Introversion Software, proudly appointing themselves as the last of the bedroom programmers, the team put together one of the most innovative games of the year in Darwinia. The game won the Grand Prize at the 2006 Independent Games Festival.

The world of Darwinia is surreal, filled with epic fractal vistas and populated by iconic video game sprites from classic 80's games. Tribes of Darwinians roam the landscape, embodied as 2D sprites lost within a 3D world. The in-game audio has been carefully designed to emulate the essence of 8 bit sound, typically found on 80's arcade machines and home consoles. The sound stage is generated in real-time using a combination of emulated 80's sound chips and cutting edge audio filters running on modern hardware, something unprecedented. Darwinia creates a visually and conceptually unique world.

Darwinia is available now at North American retailers for $29.99. As a bonus, the retail package also includes an exclusive Darwinian keychain and poster. For the latest updates and info on the game, please visit www.savedarwinia.com.
