Sika Österreich GmbH will acquire all interests in Haberkorn Abdichtungssysteme GmbH, based in Wolfurt, from Haberkorn Holding AG, Austria.
Haberkorn Abdichtungssysteme GmbH is an established and highly successful provider of Sarnafil membranes in the Austrian market. Sarnafil roofing membranes account for some
CHF 27 mil. of Haberkorn Abdichtungssysteme GmbH's annual sales.
At the end of 2005 Sika Group acquired Sarna Polymer Holding Inc., which manufactures Sarnafil membranes. The acquisition of Haberkorn Abdichtungssysteme GmbH is part of the strategy to streamline the distribution structures for Sarnafil membranes in Austria.
Haberkorn Holding AG will no longer operate in the roofing membranes business. Sika will take over the distribution network as well as the employees and retain the Wolfurt location.
The cooperation with Haberkorn in the area of logistics and the product portfolio will continue. Customers will be able to benefit from additional products and services from Sika.
The finalization of the transaction is contingent on the approval of the Austrian antitrust authorities.
