TULSA, Okla., July 12, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Global Beverage Solutions, Inc. (OTCBB:GBVS) through its portfolio company, Rudy Beverage, Inc. ("RBI"), is pleased to announce the joint effort partnership of RBI and Price Chopper to support high school sports programs.
Price Chopper -- a Golub Corporation company with supermarket locations in New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire has expanded its distribution of Rudy Revolution(tm) into new Northeastern markets. Rudy Revolution(tm), one of RBI's much anticipated line of healthy, low-sugar beverages, will be featured at Price Choppers, with product demos featuring guest appearances by RBI co-founder and University of Notre Dame football legend Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger in stores located throughout New York.
"Based on the success of the Rudy Revolution(tm) roll-out in Connecticut and the broad consumer appeal of the product, Price Chopper is excited to be able to offer our customers these healthy beverage lines at additional locations," said JoAnn LaPorta, community and public relations representative for Price Chopper.
Additionally, RBI and Price Chopper's Golub Foundation will be joining forces to raise money to save the athletic program at Mechanicville High School; a long-standing institution in the Golub Corporation's hometown of Albany, New York.
Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger will be a guest speaker at the event delivering his inspirational message of hope, perseverance, and that "never give up" spirit that drove him to success on the Fighting Irish football team -- highlighted in the movie "RUDY" -- and throughout his life.
A percent of proceeds from Rudy Beverage products featured and sold at select Price Chopper Supermarkets throughout the region and all of the proceeds from a related raffle, including tickets to an upcoming Notre Dame vs. Stanford game, will go to the school's booster club program in support of athletics.
In addition to Price Chopper Supermarkets, sales and distribution partnerships have been signed with Millbrook Distribution Services, Inc., Tri- Venture Marketing, Inc., Pioneer Food Brokers Inc., Celtic Marketing, Inc., T.B. Allen and Associates, Abbey-Chamberlin, and Club Marketing who primarily serve Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores.
