Universal Detection Technology Comments on Britain's New Security Alert System

UDTT's Bio-detector Featured on U.S. DOC's Commercial Service's List of Featured U.S. Exporters in the UK

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 2, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Universal Detection Technology (OTCBB:UDTT) (XETRA:PO8), a developer of early-warning monitoring technologies to protect people from bioterrorism and other infectious health threats, commented on UK's new security alert system. Today, faced with growing criticism that it was failing to spell out the threat from groups such as Al-Qaeda, the government of the United Kingdom launched a new security alert system and ranked the terrorist threat as "severe." The system has five levels ranging from "low" to "critical" and is similar to the one used in the United States. "Severe" is the second highest level.

"Everyday we witness more actions by governments around the world to more accurately address the threat of terrorism and to organize effective and precise counter-measures that can lead to saving innocent lives," said Jacques Tizabi, UDTT's Chairman and CEO. "We have been focusing on developing relations with foreign governments since our early days. We hope to be able to market and sell our bio-terrorism detection technologies and our counter-terrorism solutions worldwide and in the U.S. in the face of such credible threats," he added.

UDTT recently announced that it has been featured on Commercial Service's list of Featured U.S. Exporters (FUSE) in the UK.
