LINTHICUM, Md., Aug. 2, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Dialysis Corporation of America (Nasdaq:DCAI) announced the certification and opening of its new dialysis facility in Calhoun, Georgia which began construction earlier this year, as previously announced.
President & CEO Stephen Everett commented, "Our newest facility in Georgia opened earlier this week after passing all required inspections. The facility, which began treating patients on Monday, has already achieved a census of more than 50 patients. Calhoun, which is north of Atlanta, is our 7th dialysis center in the state."
The new facility offers state-of-the-art equipment and technology, has been designed with patient comfort in mind, and includes 15 treatment stations.
Dialysis Corporation of America currently owns or manages 32 free-standing operating kidney hemodialysis centers in Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia providing patients with a full range of quality in-center and at-home dialysis services, as well as providing in-hospital services.
