WASHINGTON, Sept. 26, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- George Group Consulting announced today the appointment of Allen R. Zeman as Vice President of Federal Services, effective immediately. Zeman has more than twenty years of consulting experience in the areas of training, change management, resource allocation and leadership across a variety of organizations, including most recently seven years at the Pentagon as the Senior Executive Service staff member responsible for the oversight of Navy training and education. He will be based in the firm's Washington D.C. office, reporting directly to Bill Kastle, Senior Vice President.
At George Group, Zeman joins a market-leading team of Lean Six Sigma and strategy-to-execution experts focused on helping government agencies and military organizations accelerate LSS implementations and achieve transformation in an era of tighter spending and growing commitments.
"Allen brings a wealth of practical, hands-on experience and a deep knowledge of the military structure and culture to our Federal Services leadership team," said James Works, President, George Group Consulting. "We are seeing growing interest across the Federal sector, from both military and non-military government organizations, in leveraging Lean Six Sigma as a roadmap for transformation. At a time when government entities are being challenged as never before to enhance their performance, streamline operations, and increase their responsiveness, deploying LSS is proving to be the most effective approach for achieving continuous, measurable improvement. Allen will be instrumental in our ability to meet the growing demand for LSS services in this market."
An expert in performance improvement, manpower and training, applied statistics, financial oversight, and requirements validation, Zeman also worked at the Spectrum Group, an independent consultancy based in Alexandria, Virginia.
While working for the Chief of Naval Operations and the Secretary of the Navy from 1994 to 2004, Zeman worked closely with the Pentagon leadership team to create the Navy College Program, an innovative military education system that has grown to include 85,000 students and increased the number of new college degrees by 47 percent. He also developed the Navy's Training Reengineering Master Plan, which launched the Navy's investment in e-learning, improved the quality of training and reduced the annual costs by $562 million.
Prior to joining George Group, Zeman was Vice President, Management Systems and Strategic Planning, at PADCO/AECOM, an international development consulting firm. In addition, he served as the Chief Economist and Senior Advisor to the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. He previously held a number of senior training and education positions within the Navy, beginning his career as a research analyst at the Center for Naval Analyses in 1989. Zeman holds a Ph. D., M.S. and B.S in Economics from Florida State University.
