EL PASO, Texas, Oct. 5, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nanoforce, Inc. (Pink Sheets:NNFC), a developer of nano-materials, new refining processes, and equipment for use in the alternative and conventional energy sectors, announces the expansion of its wholly owned subsidiary Refinery Science Corp.
Refinery Science Corp. begins construction of a "pre-commercial" Extra-Heavy Crude Upgrader and Nano-Cat(tm) manufacturing plant.
Refinery Science's technology is licensed from the University of Texas at El Paso and Nanoforce Inc. and includes patented catalysts, processes, and devices that are designed to efficiently convert hydrocarbons -- including extra heavy and sour crude oils found in the U.S. and Canada -- into clean transportation fuels. The new Extra-Heavy Crude Upgrader is designed to use Nano-Cat in low pressure, integrated systems, to improve the price of production of high quality fuels from oil sands and make them economically competitive with Middle Eastern crude oil.
This pre-commercial demonstration of Refinery Science's technology is designed to allow customers to fairly evaluate commercial production-scale performance and compare it to the technology of potential competitors.
Dr. Edward Hauptmann, Director of Engineering, Refinery Science Corp., says, "We're confident that the pre-commercial unit will be completed on time and within budget. We're equally confident that the very positive performance demonstrated by Nano-Cat in our pilot plant will continue to be shown in the much larger pre-commercial upgrader."
The Company intends to complete the pre-commercial Extra-Heavy Crude Upgrader in March of 2007.
