Pacific Sunwear Announces September Sales


ANAHEIM, Calif., Oct. 5, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Pacific Sunwear of California, Inc. (Nasdaq:PSUN) today reported that total sales for the five weeks of fiscal September ending September 30, 2006 were $118.4 million, an increase of 4.2 percent over total sales of $113.7 million during the same period last year. Total Company same-store sales decreased 2.4 percent during the same period. By concept, PacSun same-store sales decreased 1.2 percent and d.e.m.o. same-store sales decreased 9.4 percent compared to the same five week period last year.

Total sales for the first 35 weeks of fiscal 2006 were $900.8 million, an increase of 2.5 percent over total sales of $878.5 million during the same period last year. Total Company same-store sales decreased 4.7 percent during the same period. By concept, PacSun same-store sales decreased 4.5 percent and d.e.m.o. same-store sales decreased 6.3 percent compared to the same 35 week period last year.
