OTTAWA, Oct. 16, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS SATCOM, a division of EMS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ELMG), reported today the company's eNfusion SwiftBroadband technology, including software and hardware, was selected by Honeywell for its MCS-7100 Series Multi-Channel Satellite Communications Family of Satcom products.
"The demand for in-flight high-speed Internet access has been building in recent years, and our relationship with Honeywell has matured in step," says senior vice-president and general manager of EMS SATCOM, Neil Mackay. "We are delighted to be able to provide this enabling technology to Honeywell. This agreement, which we expect to be worth at least $35 Million to EMS SATCOM over the next 5 years, gives our aeronautical Satcom technology another avenue to penetrate the business and commercial airline markets."
EMS SATCOM will supply SwiftBroadband hardware and software for the MCS-7100 Series of Satcom terminals providing flexibility, and enhanced performance. The company also provides complementary equipment, including a range of Inmarsat Satcom antennas and CNX(r) cabin gateways, all of which are compatible with the Honeywell equipment.
