Global Express Electronic Flight Bag Linked to Internet

ABC Completions Uses EMS SATCOM HSD-128 High-Speed Data Terminal for Internet Access to Cockpit

OTTAWA and ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 16, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS SATCOM, a division of EMS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ELMG), announced today at the National Business Aviation Association's annual convention that its eNfusion(tm) HSD-128 High-Speed Data Terminal (HSD) has been integrated with an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) in a Global Express owned and operated by a high-profile Hollywood icon.

The system, installed by Montreal-based ABC Completions, provides an Inmarsat, satellite-based Internet link that now enables the EFB to provide instantaneous graphical weather information such as ARINC and Universal Weather. The advantage of the satellite-based link is that the data can be retrieved globally -- wherever the aircraft flies or operates. This is especially important for long-haul flights, or those outside of North America where terrestrial systems may not be available or reliable. The system also allows passengers to benefit from voice and Internet access in the aircraft cabin.

Says President of ABC Completions, Gary Nash, "Beyond weather capabilities, this new Internet capability also allows the flight crew to access hotel and car reservations, and other important data. This has opened up a completely new resource for the flight crews in dealing with the many pressures and demands they face every day."

"We are extremely excited about this application of our high-speed data terminal," says EMS SATCOM Vice President of Commercial Sales Jean Menard. "ABC's integration with the EFB demonstrates the flexibility of our eNfusion line of products in providing both cabin and cockpit communications services."
