Knowledge Development Innovation: How to Rescue America's Advantage

New Book Shows Innovative Way to Regain America's Leadership in World Education

WICHITA, Kan., Oct. 19, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- There is a need for improvement in America's educational system because the country has been behind in many areas where it had been recognized as a leader for years. Knowledge Development Innovation: How to Rescue America's Advantage by author Boulton B. Miller, Ph.D. provides the solution for our national education system to restore its leadership.

Many have recommended the need to evaluate and reorganize our national education system, including the 2004 Educause conference. Knowledge Development Innovation: How to Rescue America's Advantage presents a way to reclaim America's global leadership in world education. This book suggests the merging of the Departments of Education and Labor. This merger, if accomplished, will enable us as a nation to provide knowledge development throughout the country and not be divided with two methods: training and education. A Knowledge Development Agency (KDA) is also recommended, as a similar effort to the Manhattan Project, or NASA, and is required to be funded by Congress to accomplish the proposed reorganization of the education industry. This KDA will be able to speed up the national acceptance of the work done by so many and make their contributions recognized throughout the nation. KDA also seeks to implement the concept of common standards in all grades K-12 so students may transfer from one state to another without penalty.

Knowledge development innovation will provide this nation with the ability to demonstrate a global leadership role in education. It makes use of the latest improvements in information technology, with technically qualified faculty as guides and the students as active learners and synthesizers of knowledge. Our education system must remain flexible and be ready to implement whatever new developments become available to advance and thus regain our leadership in education.

People who are in favor of national curriculum standards instead of state standards will find this an interesting read. Members of Congress and members of the Departments of Education and Labor will also be interested in this book as they are directly involved in the recommendations. America must recognize that education is truly a national effort and that change can lead to a better future for all of us.
