Pöyry's Energy business group has been awarded an engineering contract for the new 380 kV high-voltage substation at Sarasdorf by Verbund Austrian Power Grid, Austria. The value of the assignment is EUR 1.8 million.
The project site is situated 20 km southeast of Vienna. The new substation, which is a part of a 380/110 kV network interconnection project, enables the transmission grid operator Verbund and the distribution grid operator EVN to handle the electricity produced by windmills.
Pöyry's services consist of engineering services, including detail design, and construction of all high-voltage and control equipment as well as cabling within the 380 kV switchgear. Project follow-up, installation, commissioning and deliveries of as-built documentation will continue until 2008.
