RENO, Nev., Nov. 16, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Battle Mountain Gold Exploration Corp. (OTCBB:BMGX) ("Battle Mountain") is pleased to report that Orezone Resources Inc. ("Orezone") announced drill results from a combined RC and core drilling program on their Sega project in a press release dated November 6, 2006. In the release, Orezone reported that the drill results included 13.4m at 10.8 g/t and 6m at 59.1g/t in the RZ Zone, and 49.5m at 3.1 g/t in the Bakou Zone. Orezone stated that the drill results at the 3 main zones, RZ, Gambo, and Bakou, indicate that the previously identified mineralization continues at depth and can be locally very high grade. Battle Mountain holds a 3% Net Smelter Royalty ("NSR") in Orezone's Sega property.
The following table lists the drilling highlights that Orezone presented in the release.

In the release, Orezone explained that with these higher grades at depth, they will have to extend their pit models or consider an underground component. These latest drill results are being incorporated into revised geological models to create an up to date block model for Sega. Genivar Inc. has been contracted to produce a new 43-101 compliant resource model and Orezone will use this as the foundation for an economic study; the study will examine development costs, environmental issues, and water sources and is expected to be completed in December 2006 or January 2007.
Orezone plans to continue drilling at Sega and the next phase of drilling will focus on new targets along strike that have been identified by recent modeling, geophysics, mapping, and structural interpretation. In the release, Orezone states that their goal is to qualify a minimum recoverable resource of 600,000 ounces at 2 g/t or better and that they believe that this goal is attainable within the next exploration season scheduled to end June 2007.
