Cradle Technologies and Sigpro Systems Announce Partnership

Sigpro to Provide Development and Licensing for Cradle's RDKs

SUNNYVALE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 21, 2006 -- Cradle Technologies, a fabless semiconductor company providing a line of Multi-core DSPs (MDSPs) for video and imaging systems, and Sigpro Systems, a design and development company for multimedia codecs and systems, have announced that the companies will partner in the areas of development and licensing.

Sigpro has signed up as the first Cradle Technology Access Partner-Licensed Design Center (CTAP-LDC). The initial focus is on Cradle's Bluegill and Boxfish IP Video Streamer Reference Designs. Sigpro will be selling the video/audio streamers, as well as the Bluegill and Boxfish Reference Design Kits (RDKs), to OEMs and will provide support and NRE services under contract.

"Sigpro has achieved the CTAP-LDC designation by continually delivering quality software on time," said Bruce Schulman, Cradle Vice President of Applications. "Their extensive experience with the Cradle SDK tools and software has helped implement new features, extending the Bluegill and Boxfish capabilities. Sigpro already has the backing of a number of our customers. We are looking forward to more innovations."

Cradle's Bluegill and Boxfish RDKs are MPEG-4 IP video/audio streamers, based on the CT3400 MDSP, designed for low-cost and small form factor. The RDKs enable conversion of surveillance-related content from analog to digital IP without requiring the substantial investment that would otherwise be incurred in replacing the existing installed base of analog cameras. Using Bluegill and Boxfish, users can remotely control and monitor live video and audio from existing analog cameras using any web terminal on the internet. The Cradle CT3400 MDSP can implement a variety of advanced video and audio compression algorithms such as MPEG-4 and G.7xx to produce high quality real-time video at low compression bit rates.

"When expanding our offerings from development services for multimedia to products and solutions, it was important for us to choose a partner that has a powerful processor architecture, usable tools, reference designs, and a roadmap suited for the evolving demands and customizations of the video surveillance market," said Abhijeet Wakle of Sigpro Systems. "The CT3400-based Bluegill and Boxfish RDKs offer ready-to-deploy and quick-customization possibilities for small to large volume video surveillance OEMs. Cradle's performance roadmap offers Sigpro Systems the possibility of addressing the growing needs of the industry by building surveillance solutions on the next generation Cradle processors."
