CHESTER, Pa., Dec. 4, 2006 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Anyone looking to put a personal stamp on a national website, get a foot in the door of the marketing world or just make some extra money during the holidays may have a chance. EducationforAdults.com, an online directory of adult education programs, is running a contest to develop a new tagline.
Starting on December 1 and ending New Year's Day, the EducationforAdults.com tagline contest gives people an opportunity to let their creative juices flow and gain some recognition for their work. The grand prize winner will be featured on the site and will receive $500 cash to pay off holiday bills or purchase the gifts they wanted but didn't receive.
The top five taglines as chosen by EducationforAdults.com's staff will be placed online at www.EducationforAdults.com/slogans.html and visitors of the site will be able to vote on their favorite during the week of January 15. The winner will be announced in early February and will receive mention on the site in addition to the $500 grand prize.
"This is a great way to keep the website interactive," says Lori Mitchell, manager of EducationforAdults.com. "We try to give the users as much control over the website as possible. What better way to involve the users and create a site that truly meets their needs than to let them steer the direction of the site by developing one of the most important aspects of its marketing?"
Mitchell also thinks it furthers EducationforAdults.com's career-minded focus. "We have pages of original content on job prospects, career information and advice on going to school to revitalize a current career or start a new one. Now we are upping the ante by allowing the winner to, in essence, put his or her resume on the website. Imagine the respect one will garner by going into a job interview having crafted the slogan for a large organization. It shows what they are capable of. It's a truly terrific opportunity."
EducationforAdults.com insists that they will use the winning tagline, and only asks that participants keep their logo in mind. To enter the contest, send your tagline to slogan@educationforadults.com before January 1.
"You just may see your handiwork highlighted on the Web," Mitchell says.
