TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 11, 2006 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Internal Hydro International, Inc. (OTCBB:IHDR) (www.internalhydro.com) announced today that IHDR has chosen to certify electrical output of the Energy Commander V low impact hydro unit before the unit is shipped for production purposes in Italy. The electrical production was already displayed from running the generator through three months of runs, but was not measured during engineering studies. Given the unit's demonstrated electrical power output, IHDR's CEO has chosen to certify such output before shipment to the Company's Italian partner, Cm2. Certification of electricity production will be for purposes of pending sales and bids in placing the unit in environments where the unit would face the same flows it was exposed to for three months. The contracted entity responsible for design and production of the demonstrator unit chose to test mechanical forces instead of actual demonstrated electrical output through the generator.
"In order to pursue additional sales which are pending, and to place the information on our product sheets and bids, we will show the demonstrator unit's electrical output, not merely artificial mechanical force measurements. The testing of the EC V will now certify what was evident but unspoken, and uncertified before, namely, that the unit was producing electricity above the line during all the time the unit was being run," stated IHDR CEO and President, Craig A. Huffman. "The unit had produced electricity continuously using real world flows we would face in different applications. What needs to be shown is what the unit produces in electricity, not applying a braking mechanism, without the generator hooked up as was done in the engineering testing. The unit's electricity performance was unquestioned in that realm, and should not have been assumed in order to show what you can do to merely slow down the drive shaft under irrelevant circumstances. The feedback was clear since the study and results were made, and so is this mission and we will show what was proven by the unit's electrical production over the time of its runs. This unit powered the generator at capacity; that is what mattered, but was not certified. As powerful as it was in testing, the testing was not a measure of electrical production capability, since the unit will never face a disc brake applying hundreds of pounds of force on the drive shaft while running in any flow," Huffman continued.
IHDR will transport the unit for production study by Cm2, immediately following the certification of electrical production. Cm2's production schedule is not reliant upon the receipt of the EC V unit, and the certification of the electrical production is expected to be concluded within one week. The EC V unit was previously run over a series of specialized and limited tests using varying flow pressures for power, or torque on the drive shaft. The unit, outside of the engineering testing applying force to the drive shaft, showed the ability to consistently work near 100 RPMs, which then transferred to the generator by the generator's built in and normal RPM step up, under normal flows to power the generator without significant problems.
Unlike traditional hydro, the Energy Commander is ecologically sound, without the usual problems of oxidation and large intakes associated with turbines. As built and displayed the unit has outperformed initial expectations for the production of both electrical and mechanical power for other uses.
About Internal Hydro:
Internal Hydro International, Inc. is an alternative energy company that developed a clean energy power system, the Energy Commander Systems, that utilizes a patented technology, using waste water, fluid or gas flow from any source where flow pressure is present, and yet wasted, to create electricity. Internal Hydro has licensed a tire remediation to fuel and ethanol waste (DDG) to biofuels technology for use on ethanol plants domestically. IHDR is international in scope, with European production and marketing for its core technologies, and is preparing to enter the market with its core Energy Commander systems. Internal Hydro is well positioned to gain major market share and dominate the niche of hydro and renewable energy in the fragmented alternative energy marketplace.
