British Airways Offers 'Europe for Free'

Air and Two Free Hotel Nights in London or Europe Start At $318 From New York


NEW YORK, Jan. 16, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- British Airways today announced it is expanding its popular "London for Free" promotion to Europe, offering two nights' free hotel accommodation when purchasing roundtrip airfares between the United States and Europe.

Roundtrip airfares begin at $318 between New York (JFK or Newark) and London. Travelers may choose to fly directly to London or onto any of the selected destinations and enjoy two free hotel nights, courtesy of British Airways.

"Europe For Free" promotion must be purchased by midnight (EST) Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007. Travel is valid from Jan. 23, 2007, through Mar. 25, 2007.

The two free hotel nights are available at a selection of two and three star hotels throughout Europe. Participating "Europe for Free" hotels include D'Este in Rome, Kyraid La Villette in Paris, Astrurias in Madrid, Ibis Prague Karlin in Prague, Vondel Park Plaza in Amsterdam, and Philippos in Athens. London hotels participating in include Royal National, Jury's Inn Chelsea, Central Park, Comfort Inn Kensington, Corus Hyde Park, and Royal Eagle. The two free hotel nights are based on double occupancy; single occupants are offered one free hotel night.

Comparable airfares are available from 19 British Airways' U.S. cities to destinations in Europe. Sample roundtrip fares include Washington/Amsterdam starting at $466, Chicago/Rome beginning at $572, Houston/Athens starting at $557 and Miami/Madrid starting at $493.

Travelers also have the option to upgrade to World Traveller Plus, the airline's premium economy cabin, for an additional fee. World Traveller Plus (premium economy) features a 38-inch pitch reclining seat with its own separate cabin on all British Airways wide body longhaul aircraft.

Roundtrip fares must be booked and purchased seven days in advance and are non-refundable. Fares may be higher for other travel dates, from other U.S. departure gateways and to beyond London destinations. Weekend (Thursday-Sunday) surcharge applies at $30 each way. Fares are subject to government approval and do not include government fees and taxes from $159 and a $2.50 September 11 Security Fee. Minimum stay of Saturday night is required and maximum stay is 11 months. Other significant restrictions apply.

Hotel rates are per person per night and are valid for a maximum of two nights based on double occupancy for travel between Jan. 20, 2007 - March 31, 2007, only, with all travel to be completed by March 31, 2007. Hotel accommodation must be purchased with British Airways round-trip published airfare originating in the U.S.
