MCKEESPORT, PA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 19, 2007 -- Ypsilanti, MI based actor LeCount Holmes,
Jr.,will deliver a one man show on Frederick Douglass, abolitionist and
author, "The Man," in honor of Black History month at the Penn State
campuses at McKeesport, Shenango, Dubois, Altoona, York, Wilkes-Barre and
Harrisburg from February 20, 2007 to Feb. 27, 2007.
Holmes and his one man show will recreate the life of Douglass from slavery
to freedom to activism, using his own words to tell the story of equality
for all. In historic costume, Holmes will embody the many messages of
Douglass including the power of reading, which Douglass learned from his
master's wife when it was against the law for Negroes to read.
Holmes, a native of Washington, DC also has re-created his portrayal of
Douglass around the country and London. He also is a motivational speaker
and trainer for colleges and companies such as AT&T, national Dental
Associations and others.
Early on in his entrepreneurial career, Holmes operated a Singing Telegram
Business, and was hired to deliver a Singing Telegram to Media Personality
Oprah Winfrey, and Nobel Peace Prize Winner for Physics Leon Letterman.
