In 2006 the turnover of PST increased by 77 percents


Based on the preliminary data the turnover over the last year of one of the
largest construction companies in Lithuania Panevėžio statybos trestas (PST)
increased by 77 percents compared to 2005 and amounted 340 mln. Litas (98.5
mln.EUR). 

Compared to 2005, the estimated net profit of the company increased by 2.9 mln.
Litas (0.84 mln.EUR) and amounted 13.5 mln. Litas (3.9 mln.EUR). 

“In 2006 there was a significant - even up to 340 mln. Litas (98.5 mln.EUR) -
increase in sale, however the major part of sale consisted of construction and
erection works the profitability of them being less than that of the real
estate projects,” Dalė Bernotaitienė, the Financial Manager of PST says. 

Last year PST did not work on any real estate projects which in 2005 had
totaled 35 mln. (10 mln.EUR). Litas and earned 64 percents of the operating
profit of the company. In 2006 the PST Group was on a target to earn 16.8
mln.Litas (4.9 mln. EUR) of net profit including 7.5 mln. Litas (2.2 mln. EUR)
from the sale of real estate. 

“As the situation had changed, we did not gained any income from the sale of
real estate, however our other activities were more profitable than estimated,”
D. Bernotaitienė explains the results of the company activity last year.
