TLR Chairman and CEO Richard W. Weekley said TLR will focus its efforts on several reforms during the current legislative session, including:
- Streamlining the Texas' court system
- Venue Reform
- Juror selection and juror service
"Texas must modernize the structure of its antiquated court system, which has been built in bits and pieces over the last 150 years," Weekley said. "We must also assure than citizens from throughout our society answer the call to jury service and, when they do, that the trial process treats them respectfully, does not waste their time, and gives them every opportunity to make informed decisions."
Texans for Lawsuit Reform, the state's largest civil justice reform organization, is a bipartisan, volunteer-led coalition with more than 15,000 supporters residing in more than 757 Texas communities and representing 1,253 different businesses, professions and trades.
