HOUSTON, March 5, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Index Oil and Gas, Inc. ("Index", "the Company") (OTCBB:IXOG), today announced that it has committed to drill two wells in south Texas.
Index has signed an exploration agreement committing to drill two wells in south Texas, Habanero G2 in Goliad County and Serrano V3 in contiguous Victoria County. Both wells target gas in shallow Frio and Vicksburg reservoirs. The two-well, low-risk drilling program is planned to commence in March 2007 with results anticipated in May 2007. Each well has a planned total depth of 4,000 feet. Index has a working interest of 37.5 percent and a net revenue interest of approximately 28.1 percent. Wells previously drilled in the area have produced gross cumulative gas volumes from these two reservoir intervals ranging from 0 to 1 BCF.
The Habanero and Serrano program, if commercially successful, is expected to add incrementally to the Company's reserves and cashflow in line with the Company's strategy to rapidly build a balanced portfolio of producing assets, without exposing investors to single critical events.
