Bethesda Softworks Licenses Emergent's Gamebryo Element to Bring Oblivion to Life on the PLAYSTATION(R)3

CALABASAS, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 6, 2007 -- Emergent Game Technologies today announced that Bethesda Softworks licensed the Gamebryo Element, its flexible game engine and toolset, for PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system development. Having purchased the license last fall, Bethesda has been using Gamebryo to develop its recent breakout hit, The Elder Scrolls® IV: Oblivion™, for the PLAYSTATION®3 system. Bethesda created Oblivion for the Xbox 360 and PC using Gamebryo.

"Oblivion has been hailed as one of the most beautiful games ever made, and we expect it to set the same high standard on the PS3," said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. "Gamebryo provides us with a great platform for next generation cross-platform development."

"Emergent solutions are crafted to help our customers meet every challenge they face -- and developing games that make full use of the power of next-generation consoles is one of the biggest challenges in game development today," says Geoffrey Selzer, CEO of Emergent. "It's gratifying to see Gamebryo being used by such exceptional craftspeople to create amazing gaming experiences like Oblivion -- on every major platform."

The Gamebryo Element 2.2, a powerful framework for cross-platform development, is optimized for development on PLAYSTATION®3, Xbox 360™, Xbox Live Arcade and PC. Gamebryo brings a host of new capabilities to PS3 developers, including Floodgate, an advanced API that helps developers squeeze the most processing power out of every processing unit.

A stand-alone solution, Gamebryo is also now available as part of Emergent Elements, a family of modular tools addressing the full range of game development challenges.
