SAN DIEGO, March 27, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- American Specialty Health (ASH), the nation's premier personal health improvement company, announced that Dennis N. Beal has joined its staff as chief financial officer. Beal replaces interim CFO William P. Kuehn as the company's top financial officer.
Prior to joining ASH, Beal served as executive vice president and CFO of Santa Ana, Calif.-based Corinthian Colleges, a publicly traded operator of more than 120 for-profit colleges in the United States and Canada. In this role, Beal managed the company's Sarbanes-Oxley compliance strategy and banking relationships, and helped develop financial strategies that more than tripled corporate revenues (to $800 million) in four years. Beal was also senior vice president and CFO of Colton, Calif.-based Stater Bros. Markets, Southern California's largest privately owned supermarket chain. There, he implemented key statistical benchmarking reports and participated in an acquisition that increased annual sales by approximately $600 million.
Beal has also held leadership positions at the American Stores Company, a nationwide supermarket and drug store chain acquired by Albertson's in 1999, and as a partner at Bushman, Daines, Rasmussen & Wisan CPAs, a Salt Lake City-area accounting firm.
Beal is a certified public accountant and received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Utah and a master of business administration degree from Westminster College.
