The University of Advancing Technology Bestows Honorary Doctorate to Mr. Marvin Perry

TEMPE, AZ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 24, 2007 -- The University of Advancing Technology (UAT), a private technology college focused on new and emerging technologies, has announced that it will award Mr. Marvin Perry with an honorary doctorate degree. Mr. Perry has been selected for this honor because of his commitment to higher education.

Perry is the President of P.E. International. Perry earned an MS and a BA in economics from Oklahoma State University and the University of Central Oklahoma, respectively. He is also a graduate of the American Bankers Association Commercial Lending School and has guest lectured at Creighton University and Arizona State University. Currently, Mr. Perry sits on the Grand Canyon University College of Nursing Advisory Council, and he is a member of the Arizona State University Downtown Campus' Advisory Board. Perry also sat on the Arizona Board of Regents' ad-hoc committee for access and retention.

Perry has had extensive civic involvement, participating with many area groups: Valley of the Sun United Way, Scottsdale Cultural Council, Dean Council of Arizona State Colleges of Extended Education and the Arizona Civil Rights Advisory Board.

UAT will award the honorary doctorate degree to Mr. Perry on Saturday, April 28th, during the University's Commencement ceremony held at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Phoenix.
