The University of Advancing Technology Recognizes Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman With Honorary Technology Doctorate


TEMPE, AZ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 25, 2007 --The University of Advancing Technology (UAT), a private technology college focused on new and emerging technologies, has announced that it will award Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman with an honorary doctorate degree in technology. Mayor Hallman was chosen because of his continued recognitions of, and commitments to, higher education.

Mayor Hallman holds a juris doctorate from the University of Chicago, as well as bachelor's degrees in economics and political science from Claremont Men's College. He is an economist and practicing business law attorney in Tempe, specializing in domestic and international finance and taxation.

During his tenure in office, Mayor Hallman has been committed to attracting and supporting technology, helping to publicize Tempe as a community on the cutting edge of communications technology.

A series of events leading to the presentation of the Da Vinci Medallion at UAT's upcoming commencement on Saturday, April 28, 2007 will include a keynote address from physicist and ecoliteracy proponent Dr. Fritjof Capra at an invitational luncheon with Arizona's key leaders in the fields of education, government and business.
