COPENHAGEN, Denmark, May 8, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- In April 2007, the total number of passengers in Copenhagen Airport decreased by 48,436 passengers (-2.9%) compared with April 2006.
Due to an unofficial strike among SAS' cabin personnel most of SAS' flights were cancelled between 24 - 26 April. This affected the traffic negatively.
Breakdown of departing passengers
The number of locally departing passengers increased by 8,830 passengers (+1.6%). The number of transfer/transit passengers decreased by 43,106 passengers (-15.5%).
International passengers
The number of scheduled international passengers decreased by 35,418 passengers (-2.4%), while the number of international charter passengers decreased by 14,689 (-17.0%). Consequently, the total number of international passengers decreased by 50,179 passengers (-3.2%). Domestic passengers The total number of domestic passengers increased by 1,743 passengers (+1.2%) compared with April 2006.
Operations and take-off weight
In April 2007, the total number of take-offs and landings decreased by 195 operations (-1.0%), while the tonnage decreased by 8,332 tonnes (-1.3%) compared with April 2006.
