Munters receives Indoor Climate Award for reduced energy consumption

Munters was announced winner of the Swedish Indoor Climate Award 2006, for
indoor climate, energy, ventilation and sanitation.

The award is issued to companies or organizations having developed a significant
product or service for commercial purposes. To be deemed significant, the
product or service should have an innovative feature and contribute to improved
indoor climate quality and a long-term limitation of resource usage. The awarded
technology is present in Munters sorption dehumidifiers and in the DesiCool
system.
The jury's motivation reads as follows: “The jury has appointed Munters AB as
winner of the 2006 Indoor Climate Award. The award is presented for the
technique of using rotating exchangers to transfer both heat and humidity. The
technique has implied a great commercial impact within applications such as heat
recovery, dehumidification and comfort cooling. In all these cases the technique
provides a resource-efficient method of assuring high quality of indoor climate.
The technique is well tested and by the vast utilization it saves a considerable
amount of energy. Even though the technique is well-known today it was
innovative at the time of introduction. An innovative technique which
contributes to improvement of the indoor climate and reduces the use of
electricity and heating, makes Munters a dignified recipient of the 2006 Indoor
Climate Award”.
“We are very happy to receive this award confirming our leading position as a
supplier of energy- and cost-efficient climate control solutions. Most of our
products and service offerings actively contribute to a reduction in
environmental loads for our customers”, says Munters CEO Lars Engström.

The price was founded in 2001 by Slussen Building Services in co-operation with
the Ventilation & Air Handling Association, the Swedish Association of Air
Handling Industries and the Swedish Society of Refrigeration.
