Old Mutual plc applies to de-list its shares in Sweden from Stockholmsbörsen and
to have its shares traded on the Xternal List

In order to seek consistency in the requirements of its listings, Old Mutual plc
(the Company) today announces it is applying to de-list its shares in Sweden
from Stockholmsbörsen. The Company has made arrangements for Deutsche Bank to
act as a market maker for shares in the Company held by its Swedish shareholders
through the Swedish nominee, VPC AB, so as to ensure that those shares will
continue to be readily tradeable in Sweden on the Xternal List when the
de-listing becomes effective. The estimated final day of trading on
Stockholmsbörsen will be decided by the Stockholmsbörsen and communicated at a
later stage.

Once de-listed from Stockholmsbörsen, the Company will no longer have a listing
agreement with Stockholmsbörsen and will no longer be required to publish full
quarterly results for the first and third quarters of its financial year.
