RIDGEWOOD, N.J., Sept. 7, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Convergence is the buzz word for TVs matching up with computers, and a PC-friendly TV was one of the stars at CEDIA EXPO 2007, the biggest showcase for home electronics in the world.

CNET host Jessica Corbin took a look at the features of the HP MediaSmart TV, which can retrieve all those family photos from a PC as well as access a wide range of Internet services. A companion device, the HP MediaSmart Server, gives you access to files from any PC on a home network. It also works remotely and with HP PhotoWebshare, you can easily create a site on the server to share favorite photos with family and friends.

Other new products at the show included a high definition DVR from the Dish Network that provides more storage space than any other and the LG Super Blu Player that enables consumers to playback either Blu-ray or HD-DVD formatted programs.

Jessica also examined the features of the ADT Safewatch Videoview System that integrates with home security systems and allows owners to view their homes via the Internet from anywhere in the world.
