Lindab shows a new stud system - wall construction in a "click"

Lindab today announced an innovation to add to its portfolio of
construction products - a new stud which can be fixed without using
any tools or fasteners. The new stud, RdBx is aimed at reducing
on-site assembly times, further simplifying construction.

The system has been developed so that the studs and runners can be
easily 'clicked' together, eliminating the need for tools and
connecting parts. A patent application has been made and the system
is due for launch in Scandinavia at the beginning of 2008. Lindab's
initial research by external advisors shows that the total market
value for partition wall profiles are around SEK 11 billion in
Europe.

The new studs have evolved from the existing RdB(TM)studs used for
partition walls and share the same characteristics. The system is
delivered to the building site as a complete solution, with the parts
already marked up and cut to the lengths required. "The studs are
lightweight, rigid and sound-proof," says Peter Andsberg, Business
Area Manager for Lindab Profile. "But the real advantage of the new
RdBx studs are the reduced assembly times, which in testing has been
shown to be cut by nearly half," he adds."In spring of this year we launched Lindab Safe Click, a ventilation
product where normal fasteners are replaced with a 'click' assembly
function," says Kjell Åkesson, CEO of Lindab. "Construction processes
that can be simplified in this way present a real advantage to
builders. Eliminating the need for tools brings construction times
down and makes jobs so much easier. Lindab Safe Click has been
greeted enthusiastically by the ventilation industry and we can now
hope for the same response from our customers in building
construction," concludes Kjell Åkesson.
