Sage Software Releases Sage PFW ERP 5.6
Major New Release Adds Powerful New Features and Functionality to Award-Winning Business Management Solution

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - September 18, 2007) - Sage Software announced today the general
availability of Sage PFW ERP 5.6, a major, new version of this leading
business management system that features key, customer-focused enhancements
within its core business management, distribution and manufacturing
modules. Sage PFW 5.6 provides businesses with interface updates,
efficiency enhancements, and performance optimizations that deliver a
better, more intuitive user experience and demonstrate Sage Software's
focus on providing products that meet the needs of its customers.
Sage PFW ERP is ideal for small and
mid-sized companies with up to $150M in revenue, companies with
subsidiaries outside the United States, as well as import/export companies,
which can utilize the product's multi-currency capabilities. Sage PFW 5.6
features a scalable,
three-tier architecture with tight security control, which delivers better
productivity for users and improved overall system performance.

Sage PFW 5.6 provides many new ways for small and

New Vendor Status, Customer Status, Order Hold Features
These new features will help business owners better manage the status of
their vendors and customers, and reduce data entry errors. Version 5.6 also
provides extensive visibility into customers' credit histories with its new
credit tracking fields and calculation capabilities.
New User Efficiency Features
The new Caption Hyperlinks feature in version 5.6 is designed to maximize
user efficiency by enabling users to quickly and easily navigate file
maintenance tables with a single click of the mouse, saving valuable time
and keystrokes when accessing information. The new Increased Customer
Address Field Sizes feature easily supports longer street and mailing
addresses, including international formats, and the newly added Find
Historical data option saves even more time by using Templates to specify
which information will be populated when pulling in a record.
Improved Overall System Performance
Sage PFW 5.6 works harder and smarter than previous versions. The new Data
Optimization Utility optimizes data on all keypaths, rebuilding data and
reducing file sizes to ensure optimal performance levels. Inventory Pro and
MRP users can now optimize performance with the product's innovative
three-tier architecture. Tasks that are processed remotely can also be
scheduled to run during off-peak hours, saving time, eliminating server
bottlenecks, and substantially enhancing overall system performance.
Better Auditing & Data Tracking
Several new and enhanced features in version 5.6 have been added to assist
users with auditing and tracking data, including a new option to retain the
original invoice number when reprinting an invoice, a new report that
offers a true invoice reprint, enhanced integration to Pervasive®
AuditMaster, improved Universal Notes & Attachments (also added to the
Purchasing Pro and Order Entry Pro modules), and improvements to the
Advanced Lookup Engine.
Microsoft® Vista™ Support
Sage PFW 5.6 will be certified on the new Microsoft operating system,
supporting the Vista Business and Ultimate editions.(1)
