Tallinn City Government approved water and wastewater service tariffs for 2008

At today's meeting Tallinn City Government approved water and wastewater service
tariffs that will be applied from 1st of January 2008 onwards; the tariffs will 
increase by 11.7% in the next year.                                             

The new tariff comprises of the K coefficient of 6.5%, the CPI of 5.8% and the  
impact of the change in law of minus 0.6%. The impact of the change in law was  
conditioned by the increase in environmental charges and the reduction of income
tax rate until 2011 approved by Riigikogu.                                      

The tariff increase is in accordance with the Services Agreement concluded by   
the City of Tallinn and AS Tallinna Vesi on 30 September 2002.                  

Also consultations between the City of Tallinn and AS Tallinna Vesi are being   
held in order to find the best solutions for completing the construction of the 
city's water supply and sewerage system by the year of 2011.
