Dougherty Named Senior VP at U.S. RE

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - October 1, 2007) - Arthur T. Dougherty, a reinsurance broker with
more than 25 years' experience in the property and casualty sector, has
joined U.S. RE Corporation as Senior Vice President, Tal P. Piccione,
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, announced.
Dougherty comes to U.S. RE as Senior VP after six years at Benfield, Inc.
where he was responsible for production, management, and placement of
Treaty Reinsurance.
"Art Dougherty has an outstanding track record and will make an important
contribution to our leadership team as U.S. RE grows," Piccione said. "His
experience in the Specialty Casualty Business will be exceedingly valuable
as we move forward."

Senior Vice President. In 1990 he established Aon Re's New York office and
assisted in growing that office's revenues to more than $20 million by
1997.
Dougherty began his career in the management training program at American
Re after graduating from St. John's University with a B.S. Degree in
Accounting.
