Christopher & Banks Corporation Reports Fiscal September Sales Results


MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 4 -- Christopher & Banks Corporation (NYSE: CBK) today reported fiscal September sales results.

For the four-week period ended September 29, 2007, total sales were $45.4 million compared to $42.0 million for the four-week period ended September 23, 2006. September same-store sales for the four weeks ended September 29, 2007 are compared to the four-week period ended September 30, 2006. On this basis, same-store sales for the four-week period ended September 29, 2007 increased 1%. Total sales for the seven fiscal months ended September 29, 2007 were $335.9 million compared to $316.1 million for the seven fiscal months ended September 23, 2006. Same-store sales for the thirty fiscal weeks ended September 29, 2007 were flat when compared to the corresponding thirty week period ended September 30, 2006. As of September 29, 2007, the Company operated 812 stores compared to 756 stores as of September 23, 2006.

Lorna Nagler, President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, "September ended on a positive note as a successful promotion drove improved sales during the final weekend of the month. We are also encouraged that we generated a slight increase in September merchandise margins compared to last year despite the challenging retail environment."
