CARDO ACQUIRES RIGHTS TO NEW DOOR SOLUTIONS

Within its division Door & Logistics Solutions, Cardo has acquired the rights to
the German company Fuhrrheydt's solutions for horizontally sliding doors.
Through the acquisition, Doors & Logistics Solutions is expanding its offering
to customers in its Aircraft & Shipyard segment in particular, which under the
Megadoor brand is now gaining access to both vertically and horizontally sliding
doors.

Fuhrrheydt has a long tradition of working in the horizontally sliding door
segment and for decades has been developing systems that meet the market need
for features such as insulation, light admission and savings on construction and
heating costs. 

“Fuhrrheydt is known for its new way of thinking in combination with customized
solutions. The competence that we are now making available to Door & Logistics
Solutions is an important complement to the present product portfolio,” says

“Horizontally sliding doors are often specified in the inquiries we receive. Our
challenge has been to convince the end-user, architect or building contractor to
change to vertically sliding doors, resulting in the building needing to be
redesigned,” says Ulf Peterson, who has global responsibility for the customer
segment Aircraft & Shipyard. “Now we can be even better at meeting the needs of
the customers.”
